This post – Saving Money with ScriptSave WellRx – is a sponsored post. All opinions are my own.
Let’s talk about health insurance. I buy mine through the NYS health insurance marketplace, and the plan is not very comprehensive. I still have to pay a lot out of pocket for prescriptions. One year I actually paid more in medical expenses than my insurance saved me! Thankfully, I’ve since learned about the ScriptSave® WellRx savings program.
The ScriptSave WellRx program saves me money every month on prescriptions that my health insurance doesn’t cover. In short, they provide a free “second opinion” on my out-of-pocket prescription costs. And who doesn’t like second opinions? While the program doesn’t replace my health insurance, it covers me when I am underinsured. Which is a lot. The program can also be used in place of insurance if you so choose, which could make a big difference if you have to meet a large insurance deductible before prescription benefits kick in.
I actually learned about the program through my local pharmacy when the little one needed a prescription that insurance didn’t cover. Using the ScriptSave WellRx savings card, I saved almost $20 on her prescription. I didn’t even know it existed – the pharmacist said, “We’ll put it through using the savings card.” All of a sudden, like magic, the price went down. Since then, I’ve been using the program every chance I get. Even if it only saved me 50 cents, it would be totally worth it.
The ScriptSave WellRx program just rolled out some amazing new app features, too! The first one is Personalized Wellness & Grocery Guidance. While many features are also available via computer, Grocery Guidance is only available in the latest version of the mobile app. It’s got a built-in barcode scanner and text-based search tool so you can review your favorite brand name foods while browsing the grocery store. It’s like carrying around a personal nutritionist while you shop.

Price Drop Alerts is the second feature I want to tell you about. This tool is available both on the app and on the website and it’s absolutely FREE! The program will let you know if a prescription price has dropped in your zip code. All you have to do is add the prescription and click “price drop”. When an alert is triggered, you get an email telling you where to go to pay less. It’s a big time saver. Because who wants to call around to several different pharmacies to find the lowest price? I’ve got better things to do, especially if I’ve got a sick kiddo. My ScriptSave WellRx app now does all of the hard work for me.
Take My Meds Reminders is probably my favorite feature. It seems that every time my kids are on antibiotics, it’s a 3 times a day for ten days thing. I don’t know about you, but I have so much going on that toward the end of the ten days, they’re showing no more symptoms of illness and it just doesn’t pop into my mind to give them their medication. ScriptSave WellRx allows you to set up reminders to take medications at specific times. It also lets you know when to refill (this is HUGE for me because I always forget to refill until I’m completely out of medication!)
The ScriptSave Well Rx card/app is free to download, requires no credit card, and has no membership fee. I highly recommend giving it a try! To get the app, visit the website and use the invite code Moody!
